HEADSPACE: UI FX FOR ANIMATED FEATURE
Headspace (2023) is a South African CGI-animated feature directed by Paul Meyer and Gerhard Painter, produced by Luma Animation and The Ergo Company.
As part of the Luma team, I designed and animated the in-world screen interfaces featured throughout the film, including hero and villain spaceship controls, navigation systems, and holographic displays. Each interface was developed using a procedural design system, allowing the shapes and visual language to evolve across multiple scenes.
All screen graphics were designed and animated in After Effects, with holographic effects and compositing completed in Nuke to integrate into the animated world.
It was an honor to contribute to this ambitious, collaborative production alongside the exceptionally talented artists and technicians at Luma Animation.
